Contracts Manager


The Contracts Manager is a key central position who can coordinate full-scope workflow between cross-functional departments. They must be quality-focused and results-oriented, putting safety and customer care at the top of their priorities.

Based in Quartzelec, Malyasia 

Key Responsibilities & Accountability

  • Manage daily contract activities, focusing on terms & conditions, quotations, project scope, order acknowledgments, procurement, LTSAs, local and Malaysian laws, and coordination between the Business Manager, Contracts Manager, Project Manager, customers, workshop, and site
  • Responsible for day-to-day management of staff, contractual activities including quotations, project scope, coordination between PMs, customer, workshop, and site
  • Responsible for POs, Ts & Cs, order acknowledgments, and general contractual documentation per position and company policies
  • Review workshop, site work, project scope, and associated documentation to ensure accuracy and readiness before project commencement
  • Create and maintain a central document library for project work packs (hard and soft copies)
  • Monitor project hours in conjunction with work scope
  • Consult with Management, customers, and participate in project reviews
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure records and reports are maintained according to company and legislative compliance requirements
  • Maintain diligence in identifying areas for workplace and employee development
  • Promote a strong health & safety and quality focus; lead by example with a “Safety First” culture
  • Participate in monthly safety reviews and safety meetings
  • Conduct a minimum of two workshop safety walks per month
  • Lead by example and encourage personal development in direct reports
  • Review and countersign quality documents for accuracy
  • Ensure customer reports are submitted no later than 24 hours after project completion unless otherwise agreed
  • Promote and communicate a "right first time" and "on-time delivery" ethos
  • Assist in managing timesheet bookings, ensuring alignment with project P&L expectations and client-agreed tendered hours
  • Inspire team members by clearly communicating team goals and identifying training needs
  • Provide quality customer service including direct interaction with customers, handling enquiries, and managing complaints when necessary
  • Ensure responsibility for equipment and plant within the area, with continuous improvement and safety in focus
  • Perform any other duties the Business Manager considers appropriate

 

Qualifications, Experience & Personal Attributes

We invite applications from individuals who possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant qualification within the Electrical/Electronic discipline. Candidates with demonstrable industry experience in partial discharge will also be considered

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (HNC/ONC) may be considered
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Project management experience in power generation, hydro, or renewables is required
  • Familiarity with generators and motors is essential
  • Previous people management experience is an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software tools
